Oplan A.R.U.G.A. Brings Relief to Flood-Affected Evacuees at Two Separate Venues in Dagupan City

DAGUPAN CITY – The Rotary Club of Central Pangasinan (RCCP), in partnership with the Inner Wheel Club of Central Pangasinan (IWCCP) and the Ednas School Dagupan Batch ’93 Alumni Association, Inc. (ESDB93AAI), conducted Oplan A.R.U.G.A. at two separate evacuation venues – the Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) Compound and West Central Elementary School 2 (WCES2) – to provide immediate food assistance to families displaced by flooding.
The relief operation served approximately 328 evacuees at the DCNHS Compound and 122 evacuees at WCES2, providing bulalugaw, pandesal, and bottled water to help meet the immediate needs of the affected families.
Initiated and spearheaded by RCCP, the project brought together the three organizations in a collaborative response to the flooding, with RCCP led by President Jason Estrada, together with PP Mer Concepcion, PP Mike Villamor, PP Nats Alipio, Director Merissa Villamor, Director Claire Enrile, Director Ricky Parayno, Club Treasurer Mikey Fabe, Rtn. Aldrin Sotong, Rtn. Ronnie Mauricio, and Rtn. Mauee Lapeña.
The Inner Wheel Club of Central Pangasinan participated through President Marie Poserio, PP Nila Torres, and PP Chit Concepcion, while the Ednas School Dagupan Batch ’93 Alumni Association, Inc. joined the initiative through President Ronnie Mauricio, Charter President Mauee Lapeña, and Jason Estrada, who, while serving as active Rotarians and among the principal proponents of the project, also represented their Batch ’93 alumni organization in extending assistance to the evacuees.
The partnership demonstrated how existing relationships and shared commitments among the three organizations can be translated into immediate action, allowing Oplan A.R.U.G.A. to reach evacuees in two separate locations and provide them with much-needed food and basic necessities.
RCCP President Jason Estrada said that the project was born out of the desire to respond quickly to the needs of families affected by the flooding, particularly those who had been displaced from their homes and were seeking temporary shelter in evacuation centers.
“When we learned that our fellow Dagupenos had been displaced by the flooding, we knew that we had to do something immediately, and Oplan A.R.U.G.A. gave us an opportunity to bring together Rotary, Inner Wheel, and our Batch ’93 family in one meaningful effort, reaching evacuees in two separate venues and providing them with something warm to eat and basic necessities at a time when they needed them most,” Estrada said.
The activity reflects RCCP’s commitment to Create Lasting Impact by responding to urgent community needs through service, partnership, and collective action, while demonstrating that meaningful assistance becomes even more effective when organizations work together for the community.
