RCCP, DCWD UNITE FOR A CLEANER COASTLINE IN BONUAN BINLOC
The Rotary Club of Central Pangasinan (RCCP) joined the Dagupan City Water District (DCWD) in a Coastal Cleanup Drive held on September 29, 2026, along the coast of Bonuan Binloc, Dagupan City, in support of environmental protection and the preservation of the city’s coastal resources.
The project brought together personnel of DCWD, led by General Manager Gretchen G. Buena, and members of RCCP, headed by Club President Jason Estrada, in a collaborative effort to promote environmental responsibility and encourage community participation in keeping coastal areas clean and safe.
The cleanup drive aimed to help reduce coastal waste, protect marine ecosystems, and raise awareness of the importance of proper waste disposal and the collective responsibility of every citizen in safeguarding the environment.
DCWD General Manager Gretchen G. Buena emphasized the importance of collective action in protecting the environment, stating, “As a water service provider, DCWD recognizes that protecting our environment is essential to preserving our water resources, and through initiatives like this, we hope to inspire everyone to take an active role in keeping our communities and coastal areas clean.”
RCCP President Jason Estrada likewise expressed the club’s commitment to environmental stewardship, saying, “This coastal cleanup drive reflects Rotary’s commitment to creating lasting impact through meaningful community service, and by working together with DCWD, we demonstrate that even simple acts of service can contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment for future generations.”
The collaboration between DCWD and RCCP highlights the importance of partnerships between government institutions and civic organizations in advancing environmental initiatives and promoting a shared commitment to sustainable communities.
Through this initiative, RCCP continues to uphold the Rotary International theme for Rotary Year 2026–2027, “Create Lasting Impact,” by translating its commitment to service into meaningful action that benefits both the community and the environment.
