RCCP MARKS MEMBERSHIP MONTH WITH CALL TO DEVELOP FUTURE LEADERS THROUGH SERVICE

DAGUPAN CITY - The Rotary Club of Central Pangasinan (RCCP) celebrated Rotary International's Membership and New Club Development Month by reaffirming its commitment to strengthening membership through leadership development, fellowship, and meaningful community partnerships during its regular meeting held on August 6, 2026, at the Onyx Room of Lenox Hotel.

Club President Jason G. "Jayz" Estrada welcomed Rotarians, guests, and visiting Rotarians, emphasizing that Membership Month serves as an opportunity not only to invite new members into Rotary but also to deepen every member's understanding of the organization's ideals and commitment to Service Above Self.

Highlighting the evening was the address of Dr. Carmelo John E. Vidal, Dean of the Graduate School and Director of Extension Services and National Service Training Program of the University of Luzon, who spoke on "Building Communities Through Service: The Role of Higher Education and Rotary in Developing Future Leaders," sharing valuable insights on nurturing and developing young Rotarian leaders and encouraging stronger collaboration between educational institutions and civic organizations in shaping future servant leaders.

A unique feature of the meeting was the The Four-Way Test segment, where PP Carl Arenas went beyond the customary recitation by explaining the meaning and practical application of each of its four principles, reminding members that the Four-Way Test is not merely recited at every meeting but is intended to guide the decisions, actions, and character of every Rotarian in both personal and professional life.

PP Carl further emphasized that helping new members, prospective members, and guests understand the true essence of the Four-Way Test is vital in cultivating Rotarians who embrace Rotary's values, thereby strengthening membership through understanding, engagement, and a shared commitment to ethical leadership.

The meeting likewise provided an opportunity for fellowship, club updates, and announcements, reinforcing RCCP's commitment to creating an engaging and meaningful club experience that inspires members to remain active while encouraging others to discover Rotary.

In his closing message, President Estrada thanked Dr. Vidal for his inspiring presentation and PP Carl Arenas for enriching members' appreciation of Rotary's guiding principles, reiterating that sustainable membership growth is achieved not only by welcoming new members but also by nurturing informed, inspired, and committed Rotarians who exemplify the ideals of Rotary in their everyday lives.

The club also announced that its next major activity will be a joint service project spearheaded by its sister club, the Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union, Inc., the home club of District Governor Ronald S. Dy, where RCCP will join fellow Rotarians led by RCSFLU club president Rem Bonifacio in another collaborative initiative that reflects Rotary's enduring spirit of fellowship, partnership, and service in creating lasting impact throughout the district.
